“I pledge alliance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Our firm belief in these powerful words is the impetus behind our decision to fly the Christian flag above the American flag on the flag pole located at Christian Rights Ministries, Inc. As you can imagine, this action did not escape the notice of the local news media, local veterans groups or the citizens of our community – this we expected. However, what was not expected were the angry responses and accusations that were received from many of those same individuals.
In response, we would like to set the record straight once and for all -
We are not advocating for the creation and/or implementation of a theocratic government.
We are not violating any federal laws by flying our flags in this manner.
We are not acting with intolerance, bigotry and/or hostility toward those individuals who do not share our worldview.
We are not attempting to impose our Christian views on the community.
The changing of the order of our flag display was to serve as a reminder to one and all that we are indeed ONE NATION UNDER GOD. America is a nation that was discovered, explored, colonized, established and has matured under the protective hand of the Almighty. There is no other logical explanation for our unmatched development, wealth and world influence.
But, America is now on the threshold of losing God’s favor. Recent court decisions and current societal leanings regarding the institution of marriage, the sanctity of human life, the Christian education of our children, the erosion of our time-honored family values, and the rise of socialism, have caused many in our great nation to forget God. It is this forgetfulness that has placed our nation on that precarious precipice, and Christian Rights Ministries, Inc. is sounding the alarm.
Our downward spiral must be stopped. America as a nation must return to living in obedience to God. We must return to living lives of integrity and lives based on moral absolutes. Unless we turn back to God, God will turn his back on us. As President Ronald W. Reagan once said, “America needs God more than God needs America. If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
