SEVENTH CIRCUIT U.S.
COURT OF APPEALS DECIDES SOUTHWORTH CASE!
Late this afternoon, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the
Seventh District issued its long awaited opinion in the case of
Southworth v. The Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin.
This case started over six years ago when Scott Southworth and
two other students at the University of Wisconsin sued the school
challenging its mandatory student activity fee that forced them to fund
radical activist groups that opposed their personal religious beliefs.
This was the case that the press stated was dead after the United States
Supreme Court remanded it to the lower courts back in 2000. But the
liberal media was wrong…by the grace of God, Southworth rides again!
While the decision that came down today was not perfect, we believe
it was a positive decision that gave us more than we had hoped for. Most
importantly, the ability to persevere in this case was only made
possible because of your prayers and financial support that allowed
Scott and ADF to remain in the fight year after year. Please be in
prayer for us as we decide on the next course of action as we appeal
those parts of the decision that were not as favorable. Watch for next
week’s news alert for more details.
